Currently, 35 researchers receive a salary from the Danish Heart Foundation. In addition, the foundation supports a number of research projects by providing funds for apparatuses, lab equipment, etc. Knowledge derived from research is used by doctors, researchers, and other personnel in the health care sector, thereby helping create a basis for new and improved treatments for cardiovascular diseases. The results of the research are published in scientific journals. The results are presented at national and international scientific conferences on medicine and health care. Groundbreaking results are published in the Danish Heart Foundation’s newsletter, Hjerteliv (Heart life), and in the news media.
